itsme — Terms of Service

Last updated: June 1, 2026

By using itsme you agree to these terms. They’re short on purpose.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use itsme. itsme is currently offered only in the United States. By using the app you confirm that both apply to you.

2. Your account

You’ll sign in with a phone number you control. You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account, including any text or photo you upload, and any safe-signal alerts you send. Don’t share your phone or device with others if you don’t want them acting on your behalf in the app.

3. What itsme is — and isn’t

itsme helps you and people you trust verify each other’s identity by sharing a daily phrase. It is not:

itsme is a tool to help you and your family. It’s only as effective as the people using it. We can’t promise anyone will respond to a verification request or an alert.

4. Acceptable use

Don’t use itsme to:

We can suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Premium subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your Apple ID. Apple’s terms govern the actual purchase, refund, and renewal.

If your subscription lapses, your account stays active but reverts to the free tier; any premium content (e.g. older verification history beyond 7 days) becomes hidden until you resubscribe.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of anything you put into itsme (display name, profile photo, circle names). By using the app you give us a limited license to host and display this content to your circle as part of providing the service. Nothing more.

7. No warranty

itsme is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do our best, but we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or sufficient to prevent any particular form of impersonation. Use of itsme is at your own risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to itsme is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you’ve paid us in the last 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You can stop using itsme and delete your account at any time (Settings → Privacy → Delete my account). We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms. Subscription billing handled by Apple continues until you cancel it through Apple.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we’ll notify you in-app at next sign-in. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
